However, it may be a good idea to turn to nature, and herbs and spices may be able to help. With that in mind, here are the benefits of some herbs and spices that may help with back pain.
1. Willow Bark
For hundreds of years, willow bark has been used to treat inflammation, which is the underlying cause of most pains and aches.
The white willow bark contains salicin, a chemical that is comparable to the active component in aspirin (Bayer).
People used to consume the bark whole to cure pain and fever. But, willow bark is now available as a dried herb that may be brewed like tea.
It’s also available in a liquid supplement or in pill form, and this should help relieve discomfort from low back pain.
However, willow bark should only be consumed by adults as it can be poisonous to children. Plus, if you are sensitive to aspirin or taking any other over-the-counter drugs, you should avoid willow bark.
2. Ginger

Moreover, ginger is famous for its strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and it can be chewed raw, ground into various foods and beverages or consumed in supplement form.

3. Turmeric

And the powerful anti-inflammatory properties found in curcumin can help soothe and prevent back pain.
Plus, when combined with bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapple juice, it comes with added benefits.
An easy way to consume turmeric is to mix a small quantity (1/2 teaspoon) of turmeric powder in a glass of warm milk. You can add honey if you prefer a sweet taste, and consume this drink before bed to allow the anti-inflammatory process to work while you sleep.
4. Cloves
Whole cloves are commonly used to flavour meat and rice dishes.
However, cloves may be found in capsule or powder form as a medicine, as well as clove oil.
Like other herbal supplements, you can use cloves to treat a wide range of conditions, including back pain and arthritis inflammation; they can also be used as part of a topical pain reliever.
